Support Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home

Charitable gifts are very important to DCCH. Approximately 67 percent of our funding comes from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Much of the remainder must be raised through charitable sources. You can support the mission of the Home by making a contribution through one of the following ways:

Diocesan Catholic Children's Home participates on GuideStar, the online standard for nonprofit accountability. Take a look at our listing by clicking the GuideStar logo above.

If you have any questions about making a charitable gift to The Home, please contact Paul Miller, pmiller@dcchome.org or (859) 331-2040 ext. 8534.

Securities
Gifts of appreciated stock are eligible for tax-deductible credit. Donors of stock also avoid paying capital gains tax. If assets have decreased in value, consider selling them to create a loss for tax purposes and make deductible gifts of the cash proceeds. If you have any questions on the best way to transfer shares of stock, please contact Paul Miller, pmiller@dcchome.org or (859) 331-2040 ext. 8534.

Gifts in Kind
There are many needs within the home that may be met with your in kind contribution. Most household items and children's clothing are gladly accepted. Items should be clean and good repair.  Click here to download an In-Kind donation form.
You may also wish to donate larger items or items that would not be used at the Home to our Annual Flea Market, which is held in August. Items are collected year round and may be dropped off on Mondays and Thursdays, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. There is currently a need for new appliances, such as stoves, washers, driers, and refrigerators. We are unable to accept used appliances. Please see our Wish List for other items needed by the Home.

 Memorials and Tributes
Any gift made to DCCH may be dedicated to the memory or in honor of a loved one. These contributions are lasting reminders of a special person who touched your life. The person honored by you will be listed in the Home's Annual Report, which is published in October.

Matching Gift Programs
Many companies will match employee contributions to qualified non-profit organizations.  While most match at a 1:1 ratio, some match 2:1 or even 3:1.  Please contact your Human Resources department to find out if your company participates in a matching gift program.  Companies that have made matching gifts to DCCH.

Other Property
Gifts may also be funded with assets such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds that have increased in value. You not only receive regular tax savings, but also avoid the capital gains tax on qualified assets given for charitable use.
