Weekend (Full time or Part time)
Therapeutic
Behavior Specialist-3rd Shift
The Therapeutic Behavior Specialist is employed by the Director of Children's
Services and will have direct contact with the Executive Director regarding
position, salary, and all matters dealing with the administrative policies,
etc.
The Specialist will have a minimum of a High School Diploma as well as a
knowledge of and experience in working with children.
Under the immediate
supervision of the Apartment Supervisor, the Third Shift Therapeutic
Behavior Specialist is personally responsible for creating a
therapeutically structured and yet warm and accepting environment in the
group living situation according to the Standards published by the Kentucky
Cabinet for Human Resources for Social Services (KAR 1:300).
PRINCIPLE
RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Supervise the
children during their sleeping time (11:00 PM – 8:00 AM).
2.
Check on each child
every half hour and chart the behavior, e.g. awake in bed, out of bed, in
the bathroom, problem area, etc.
3.
Documents on the
bed check report any unusual sleeping patterns, nightmares, illnesses, or inability
to sleep, etc., and report this information to the Child Care Worker who
comes on duty in the morning.
4.
Perform any
cleaning duties assigned by Child Care Supervisor.
5.
Perform any other
duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Child Care supervisor and
the Executive Director.

Therapeutic Behavior
Specialist WEEKEND
The Therapeutic Behavior Specialist is employed by the Director of Children
Services and shall have direct contact with the Executive Director
regarding position, salary, and all matters dealing with the administrative
policies, etc.
The Specialist will have a minimum High School Diploma. However, we prefer
a Bachelor's in the field of Human Services and/or experience working with
children.
Under the immediate supervision of the Child Care Supervisor, the position
is personally responsible for creating a therapeutically structured and yet
warm and accepting environment in the group living situation according to
the Standards published by the Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources for
Social Services (KAR 1:300).
As
an employee at Diocesan Catholic Children's Home, he/she shall be sensitive
and responsive to cultural differences, which are present in the
organization’s service population.
PART TIME
- Saturday, 3-11 p.m. and
Sunday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m.
PRINCIPLE
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assume immediate authority
and responsibility for the care of the children in their respective
groups. Supervise, plan discipline, reward, and manage a group and
provide safe physical restraints when necessary in compliance with the
approved procedure of the Home.
- Share with their respective
supervisor the responsibility for assigning the daily routine for the
children, i.e., meals, rising, retiring, home visits, school
attendance, study periods, special activities, medical care, etc.
- Assume responsibility for
the physical care and maintenance of the apartments occupied by the groups.
Specified cleaning responsibilities are outlined by the Child Care
Supervisor. (This will be a shared responsibility with all
shifts).
- Designate work assignments
for children according to age, ability, interest, and therapeutic
value of the work.
- Responsible for the
child’s medical file all medical problems and illnesses and the
treatment given. This includes any routine medical/dental needs and
any crisis medical or dental needs.
- Report immediately to the
Executive Director and Supervisor in the event of serious injury,
run-away, other serious problems of management, etc. Complete a
critical incident report immediately.
- Complete the following
forms: logging, medication, time out reports, critical incident
reports, and staffing reports.
- Pray before/after meals and
at bedtime.
- Attend at least one
treatment team meeting for every 40 hours worked and staffings as
necessary.
- Perform any other duties
and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.
