RESPITE
CARE
For
The Therapeutic Foster Care
Program

The Diocesan Catholic
Children's Home is in need of families and individuals that would be
willing and able to provide respite for a child who is living in a foster
home. "Respite Providers" are not foster parents, however they
are essential because they provide children and foster parents short-term
relief or childcare. Respite may be provided by the hour, overnight or
during a weekend.
Respite Care is needed for children of all ages and from different
backgrounds. There is a critical need for respite for children who require
medical and therapeutic treatment and close monitoring because of
congenital health conditions, accidents, abuse and neglect, or material
substance abuse.
Respite providers are
paid a daily rate for there service, at the same level of reimbursement
that foster parents receive.
