Guardian Angel School

Guardian Angel School respected the dignity of each individual as a person created in the image and likeness of God. The goal of the school is to develop the whole person - physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual self to the fullest extent possible. In doing this, the students are provided the opportunity to be effective, productive, successful and consequently, happy members of the society of the people of God.

Guardian Angel School is an on-grounds facility for the exclusive use of residents of DCCH. It is located adjacent to the residential building. The school operates as a special education unit of Beechwood School District.

The school's program is directed toward the modification of behavior in an educational oriented milieu. We believe that of children can be helped to understand and work through problems that cause their emotional turmoil, and consequent disruptive behavior, learning will become an easier task.

The goals of Guardian Angel School are to help the students:

  • develop a positive self image
  • experience success
  • internalize appropriate behavior
  • acquire a positive attitude toward school and authority
  • remediate academic deficits

We believe that participation in a social skills group, creativity in the learning process and adequate outlets in the areas of music, arts, crafts, physical education, field trips, etc., can help the children enjoy the beauties and pleasures of life, experience success and acquire a sense of personal worth. This will in turn motivate them to want to learn and simulate a healthy interest and participation in the world about them.
